Deleting your account or workspace
Export your data, cancel your subscription, then permanently delete your Ayebridge workspace or personal account. What is removed and what is kept.

Before you start
Deletion is permanent. Once a workspace is deleted, its clients, projects, deliverables, approval records and comments cannot be recovered by you or by us. Take these steps first:
- Export your data. An owner or admin requests an export in Settings → Data export (
/app/settings/export). Download it and check that it opens. See exporting your workspace data. - Cancel your subscription. An owner or admin opens Billing (
/app/billing), selects Manage subscription and cancels in the Stripe customer portal, so no further payments are taken. See canceling your subscription. - Tell your clients. Their portals close when the workspace is deleted. Let them know how you will send them work from now on.
If you only want to stop paying
You do not need to delete anything to stop paying. Canceling is enough. The workspace becomes read-only at the end of the paid period, and your data is kept for at least 30 days in case you want to come back.
Delete a workspace
Only the workspace owner can delete a workspace.
- Open Settings (
/app/settings). - In the Delete workspace section, select Delete workspace.
- Type the workspace name to confirm, then select Delete workspace permanently.
While the workspace has a subscription that would renew, the page asks you to cancel it first. After you cancel, you can delete the workspace straight away; you do not have to wait for the paid period to end.
If the workspace is suspended, or a payment for it is under review, it can't be deleted from the settings page. Contact support@ayebridge.com and we will help.
Delete your account
Your account is your personal sign-in. Deleting it is separate from deleting a workspace.
- Open Account (
/app/account), from your name in the sidebar. - In Delete account, select Delete my account.
- Type your email address to confirm, then select Delete account.
If you own a workspace, you cannot delete your account until that workspace has a new owner or has been deleted. To hand it over, use Transfer ownership on the Team page (/app/team).
When you delete your account, your sign-in, sessions and workspace memberships are removed, and API keys you created stop working. Work you did for a workspace, such as deliverables, updates and comments, stays with that workspace, because it belongs to the workspace. Approval decisions you made also stay on the project's approval record, with the name and email address you had when you decided.
What is deleted
When a workspace is deleted, every client portal closes immediately and team members lose access. We remove the following from our live systems within 30 days:
- All clients, contacts, projects, updates, requests, approvals and comments.
- All deliverables and their versions.
- Your branding, documents and settings.
What we keep
- Billing records. Stripe, our payment processor, keeps payment records as required by law. We keep a minimal record of past subscriptions and invoices for tax and accounting purposes.
- Backups. Our database provider keeps rolling backups for recovery. Deleted data drops out of those backups within a further 30 days.
Our Privacy Policy explains retention in more detail.
Client contacts
Client contacts do not have a workspace. If a contact wants their access removed, they can ask you, since you control who can open your portals. Contacts can turn off emails from Your account in their portal, or email privacy@ayebridge.com.
